Lake Annecy
Lake Annecy is around 15 minutes away by car, with easy access to beaches, swimming, paddleboarding, cycling and the lakeside villages. The cycle path around the lake also passes through the south end of the lake near Doussard.
The Massif des Bauges
Le Riou sits on the edge of the Massif des Bauges Regional Natural Park, giving you direct access to mountain scenery, forest walks and hiking routes. There are walks starting close to the chalet as well as numerous routes throughout the surrounding valleys and mountains.

The area has a strong local-food culture, with farms, cheese producers and small independent businesses nearby. Close to the chalet you will find local goat cheese producers, while Glasie is also home to chocolatier Sebastian Botte.
Getting here
The chalet is reached by a mountain road above Faverges. In winter, suitable winter tyres are essential and snow chains may occasionally be required.
